Alcohol consumption boosts memory

APPARENTLY, MODERATE DRINKING BOOSTS YOUR IQ
Alcohol ‘improves IQ’
The researchers, at the National Institute for Longevity Sciences in Aichi Prefecture, near Tokyo, tested the IQs of 2000 people between 40 and 79 years of age and discovered an IQ of 3.3 higher in those who drank 540ml of wine a day than those who did not. Women scored 2.5 more than teetotallers.

It is proposed that moderate drinking improves brain power according to the Japanese research. It is thought that an ingredient of alcoholic drinks may restrict the hardening of the arteries which could otherwise lessen the blood flow. However, there are other factors linked to moderate alcohol consumption which could also be linked to improved IQ..
